Headpins and eyepins...

Hello everyone,

I am starting right back at the beginning with what are headpins and eyepins?

Headpins are small pieces of wire, which you thread your beads on to, with a stopper at the bottom to stop your bead from falling off. They are essential items in jewellery making as they are used in earrings, bag charms, charm bracelets and many more things. Headpins are a quick and easy way to attach beads to chains and you can get some wonderful effects. The picture below shows a headpin...

This is one little example of what can be made using headpins...

Now onto eyepins! Eyepins are very similar to headpins except instead of having a flat stopper on the bottom they have a loop. This loop is really useful for attaching more headpins or eyepins to create a long dangly charm or creating cluster effects. This is what an eyepin looks like...

This is an example of just one way that eyepins can be used...

The main bead was put onto a eyepin and then small swarovski crystals were put on headpins and looped through the eyepin to give a clustered effect.

That is pretty much all I can think of for now regarding headpins and eyepins, please let me know if I have missed anything important out!

Aims x
